I am an award-winning journalist, reporter, and essayist rooted in South Mississippi and based in Memphis, Tennessee. My work centers Black and Brown communities in the American South: the people navigating state violence, the stories buried under institutional noise, the voices that have been waiting to be heard.

“my writing aims to give readers a wider lens.”

I cover public safety and community survival with the rigor of an investigative journalist and the intimacy of someone who understands that the people in the story are my people. My writing aims to give readers a wider lens.

ever-evolving. rooted and real.
